Rosarito – A Magnet to The Best
“You can be sure that the investment in your home and its
Furnishings will be protected and enhanced when in our care.”
Ultra Dry Pamphlet

By Roberta Giesea
STAFF WRITER

Rosarito, a beach community with sand, dirt, and salty moist air has been considered a town in a third world country, without the technology found in the States or other parts of the world. However, with patience, the town has transitioned out of the third world concept, in part, because it has attracted people who bring their talents, knowledge and technology with them. Just like the philosophy of “Build it and they will come,” the town has attracted those who want to share their expertise from El otro lado or “the other side.” The inhabitants of the area benefit from people who have spent their lives acquiring experienced skill.

Patty and Lynn Whiton spent 25 years building a successful business that had its roots in house cleaning and maintenance in Laguna Beach, California. Their “Mom and Pop” care of multi dollar as well as normal homes and offices became a top of the line upholstery and carpet cleaning business. It out performed what they jokingly call “The Stanley Stealers” who hired questionable workmen and the chemical-dry company who sold franchises without quality control. “When people think we are the same company, I had to explain that Ultra Dry is very picky about the use of their name and products. They won’t hire just anyone. All technicians are required to pass intensive training classes. In fact, I’m the only one who has permission to use Ultra Dry in Baja.”

“People don’t need to take their Persian rugs to the States for cleaning anymore,” says Patty who says that color could be bled out of these rugs if not cleaned properly. She claims that she can clean leather and silk upholstery better than anyone. “Most people don’t know how to get out wine or blood spots like we do.” Steam or water, already so heavy in the air here in Baja, can absolutely ruin a carpet or fabric. It takes a long time for drying with antiquated systems of cleaning. “I can take my miniature dry cleaning plant, which is state of the art, on an elevator; it’s so small. I can complete a job without any mess. Also, within an hour the customer can use the room,” promises Lynn.

Lynn Whiton has a wealth of knowledge that he acquired by taking every certification class he could find. He talks with the enthusiasm of a new business owner. Why do you have so much excitement about what you do? His answer is simple. “I like doing my job because it works. I can accomplish something that no one else can.”
Alfredo, his apprentice, exudes the same excitement with two words. He says, “It’s magic!” He adds, “There’s a big difference between what it is like when we start and what it is like when we finish. Spots and dirt just vanish. Presto….it’s magic!”

Lynn adds, “Seeing a customer happy is rewarding—hearing them say, ‘Wow! That was good!” is worth the effort. Most people in Baja, who are accustomed to inferior service, are surprised when they receive excellent results. In fact, Nanci Fitzgerald, who recently had all of her upholstery and carpeting cleaned, is so overwhelmed with joy, she says, “Everything looks brand new. I can’t believe it!”

The Ultra Dry cleaning service promises to include the following:
• Pre-Cleaning Inspection---Your carpet is inspected for problem areas. You’ll be informed if we find areas that need extra-special attention.
• Carpet Grooming—It is important to prepare carpet for thorough vacuuming by loosening packed–in soil. Grooming also helps prevent losing valuable items in our vacuum cleaners.
• Heavy Duty Vacuuming—Our hand vacuuming ensures complete cleaning along all the edges, corners and other hard-to-get-to areas.
• Furniture Moving—The utmost care is exercised in moving your furniture before and after cleaning. Our technicians will hand clean underneath furniture in the event that moving is undesirable or impractical.
• Ultra Dry Application—Ultra Dry, our primary cleaning agent, is applied to release soil from fibers. Ultra Dry is completely safe, non-toxic and you’ll like its lemony fresh aroma.
• Ultra Catalyst application—Ultra Catalyst, our secondary cleaning agent, is applied by way of our floor machine and specialized Ultra-Clean pads. Ultra Dry and Ultra Catalyst chemically react to each other to help remove soil. This reaction process not only removes soil, but also neutralizes all soil attracting residues. Carpets are brighter, softer, fresher and stay clean longer with the Ultra Dry process.
• Hand Cleaning—Difficult to reach areas will be hand cleaned. Cleaning by hand is also the way that we clean fine furniture.
• Stain Treatment/Removal—Specially formulated chemical agents will be used to remove persistent stains. Carpet safely will remain paramount in all our work.
• Optional Flourosolve Application—Fluorosolve Carpet Protector repels soils and spills thus preventing permanent stains and premature wear. Subsequent vacuuming and cleaning are easier too!
• Final Grooming—The use of a professional nap brush to aid in restoring the fluff and set of your carpet’s pile to assure that finished, groomed look. Our special nap brush may be purchased and the technician will be pleased to demonstrate its use.

Ultra Dry is the most effective carpet dry cleaning service available. It cleans thoroughly, but safely by means of a unique process that not only removes soil and stains from your carpets, but leaves them bright, fresh, pH balanced and soft to the touch. In addition, the re-soiling rate is reduced.

There will be no over wetting, shrinkage, mildew, browning fiber, abrasion, or leaving of soil-attracting residues. You can be confident that your fine carpets and furniture are completely safe.

Hospitals and health care facilities use Ultra Dry because there are no toxic chemicals to irritate family or pets. RV’s, air crafts, trucks or any fabric interior can be cleaned with this process. Mattresses, headboards, tapestries and any kind of rug can be cleaned with dry solvents.

When a home is evaluated, you will receive a free written estimate with firm prices that are a lot better than those in the States. There is no “switch and bait” tactics that will cost you more than the estimate states. They will also check up on the quality of work after the job is complete.

A bottle of Ultra Dry, a well kept secret cleaning agent, can be purchased to spot clean carpets or upholstery in between professional cleaning. A variety of soils and surfaces can be cleaned with this substance that comes in a 16 oz. spray bottles. Lynn and Patty promise, “If people buy it from us and save the bottle for refills, we will refill it for free.”
They also offer a hot line for questions about spot cleaning. If a bottle of wine spills, simply call it for advice and they will share their knowledge. The hot line phone number is: 661-614-0526. Use the same number for ordering the carpet cleaning service.

Highlights of the business:

•Local family operated with a stable parent company.
•Offers jobs and training to Mexican citizens who are bi-lingual.
